Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI)

All work performed through the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® program by a BPI-certified contractor, such as Brooklyn Green Home Solutions Inc. is eligible for financial incentives.  Here is a summary of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative:

OPTION 1
Low-interest, unsecured loan for 1- to 2-family, owner-occupied homes.

  • Up to $20,000 loan limit
  • 3-, 5-, 7- or 10-year term
  • 24-hour loan approval

OPTION 2
New York ENERGY $MARTsm Loan Fund

  • Up to $30,000 loan limit
  • Current rates brought down by 4%
  • Maximum 10 year loan term
  • Any 1- to 4-family home is eligible

The Residential Loan Fund provides Eligible Borrowers with an Interest Rate Reduction up to 4.0% than a Participating Lender's normal market interest rate on Loans up to $20,000, except up to $30,000 for customers in the Consolidated Edison service territory, for a term up to ten (10) years.  To find a Participating Lender servicing your county, please visit www.nyserda.org/resloanfund.asp.

Access to the Loan Fund is contingent upon prior approval the the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program. Eligible Borrowers must contract the work to be completed by a Participating Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Contractor, and financing must be provided by a Participating Residential Loan Fund Lender. Loans may be obtained on a secured or unsecured basis, at the option of the Participating Lender and the Borrower. Measures to be financed through the Residential Loan Fund must be included on the Eligible Measures List contained in this document.

OPTION 3
Assisted Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Work Scope Incentive

(Available to income-qualified homeowners as part of the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR commitment to making efficiency affordable. See box below.*)

  • Can be combined with option 1 or 2
  • $5,000 maximum available for single-family homes
  • $10,000 maximum available for 2- to 4-family homes

Assisted Home Performance with ENERGY STAR offers two incentives for eligible New York home owners:

  • A subsidy for up to 60% of the total cost of the approved efficiency improvements (“Assisted Subsidy”) in a 1-4 family home
  • Low interest rate financing for the balance of the cost of the efficiency improvements through selected Lenders (“financing”). Eligible New Yorkers include borrowers in 1-4 family homes that have household incomes at or below 80% of the State Median or Area Median Income (whichever is greater).

OPTION 4          
10% Homeowner Financing Incentive

(Available to New York homeowners who choose not to use options 1, 2, or 3.)
  • Receive a cash incentive up to 10% of the workscope on eligible work
  • Incentive paid directly to homeowner by NY State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA)
